What is ASEE?

The Dallas-Fort Worth Association for Software Engineering Excellence is a group composed of software engineering, management, quality and configuration mangement professionals dedicated to advancing software productivity and quality. ASEE objectives focus on raising the awareness of software engineering/quality techniques and methodologies across business industries and software disciplines.

ASEE is affiliated with the Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon.

Benefits of joining ASEE

The numerous benefits of joining ASEE, the Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) Dallas Affiliate, include:

    • Earn ASQ RUs (to a category maximum of 9 per recertification cycle)
    • Earn 0.3 ASQ RUs for each SPIN meeting attended - per ASQ's Recertification Journal

How can I participate?

You can participate in ASEE by completing a short membership application online or in person at the monthly meeting. You will receive notification of the next meeting and location. There are no membership dues and the membership lists are not sold or distributed.

To play a larger role in ASEE, you can volunteer to help with any of the numerous short- or long-term projects that drive the success of ASEE by simply sending an email telling us of your availability and how long we can put you to work. We won't tell your current employer, honest.

Web Posting Policy

The ASEE Web Site is operated as a service to current and potential ASEE members. ASEE is a non-profit organization and does not promote the sale of goods or services through its activities or its web site.

Offers of value to the membership will also be posted at the discretion of the web master and the Executive committee. Generally such offers must promote and/or advance software productivity and quality by "software engineering, management, quality and configuration management professionals." An example may be a training seminar for fee, but which provides ASEE members an opportunity to participate at a reduced cost. Posting such offers does not constitute an ASEE endorsement.

Links to other sites of interest will be listed, but must have content of potential value to members. The web site cannot be used for the private benefit of individuals or organizations for activity such as promoting companies, selling goods or services or job postings/solicitations.

Information Collection and Use
ASEE is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information, save for purposes of site security/intrusion detection/denial of service tracing.

This web site complies with federal (USC 508) and international (W3C) guidelines for accessibility through coding protocols and browser independence. Our information is available to anyone with a functioning browser and an interest in advancing software productivity and quality.

That being said, the site is in English and we're not planning on translating it anytime soon.
