Abstract: Health Care Service Corporation’s 2010 Vision Statement has clear objectives to establish market leadership, create growth and deliver unrivaled customer experience. Additionally, the Board of Directors mandates Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) and National Association of Insurance Commission’s Model Audit Rule NAIC/MAR compliance.

To support these goals, our Information Technology Group (ITG) is focusing on process excellence through CobiT, CMMi, and ITIL process frameworks to help deliver industry-leading IT-related solutions, services and capabilities in response to our customers’ needs.

As we progress through our Journey towards process improvement, we face numerous challenges as we adjust and adopt our Solutions Delivery Processes. The presentation will also explore our Solution Delivery Process Framework, our governance models, the value of Process Improvement Coaching, the challenges of a Process Coach, the current and future state of our quality governance model, and the lessons we have learned to date.

Biography: Patricia Gibson, MBA, PMP

Patricia Gibson is an IT Supervisor with the Operational Excellence group of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) at Blue Cross Blue Shield of TX.

Ms. Gibson received a Bachelors of Administration in Information Systems Technology and a Masters of Business Administration in Strategic Leadership from Amberton University. She also earned her PMP Certification in 2004 and is a member of the Dallas Chapter of the Project Management Institute.

In her role as IT Supervisor, Patricia manages a team of Software Process Improvement Coaches who are deeply involved in the implementation details of process change within the HCSC organization. As well as her role in the Operational Excellence group, she has 30 years combined experience in software development and project management. She has worked at other financial, government, and consulting companies throughout her career. She also served in the USAF.
