Over 28 years ago, a small group of visionary individuals saw the need for a professional organization to address issues of software management and quality, and they founded the Dallas/Fort Worth Association of Software Engineering Excellence (DFW-ASEE).
With the help of many professionals and businesses, the group grew to encompass the needs of Software Engineering, the Capability Maturity Model (CMM), Program Management (PM), Systems Engineering (SE), the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI), Test Engineering, Agile Development, and more.
The DFW-ASEE provided members and guest monthly gatherings that include guest speakers presenting many topics of interest to the group at no cost. Additionally there was the always-popular Annual Symposium that offered a keynote speaker, three to four additional presentations, a panel discussion, snacks, lunch, and a lot of networking.
With the tremendous technology growth in the DFW area, MANY physical and virtual professional groups focused on specific arenas such as IT, PMI, Agile, Quality, and Career Development have emerged. These groups, dispersed throughout DFW, provide many topics of discussion, presentations, and opportunities.
So today, after the DFW-ASEE Executives Board’s very lengthy and careful consideration around the continued falling attedance, we’re announcing that our May 2019 meeting is our final meeting. We know that you have a great many options for meetups and appreciate each and everyone of you for your support and attendance through the years. We look forward to seeing you in the future at meetups and conferences in the DFW Metroplex.
The board members would like to thank you and all those who have participated over the life of the group.
